Kwadwo Safo Akofena has apologised to Ghanaians over the public display of disagreements within his family, stating that their father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, does not deserve the embarrassment.

Speaking in a Zoom interview on Onua FM on August 10, 2026, Akofena accepted responsibility for the situation and appealed to the public to forgive the family for allowing their issues to become a matter of public discussion.

“I want to apologise to Ghanaians for the embarrassment we caused our father and how our issues went public. He doesn’t deserve this,” he said.

Akofena mentioned that he would not blame any individual for what has happened, insisting that all members of the family bear some responsibility for the situation.

“I will not blame anyone for what has happened. We are all at fault, so I seek forgiveness,” he stated.

He disclosed that he had already apologised publicly to members of his church, kneeling before a congregation of about 15,000 people to ask for forgiveness and call for an end to the disagreements.

“When I went to church yesterday, I knelt in front of almost 15,000 people to apologise. I told the whole church that we should let everything that has happened go,” he revealed.

According to Akofena, the family’s focus should now be on preserving the dignity and legacy of their father rather than allowing their differences to deepen.

“Our father deserves more than this,” he said.

The Kristo Asafo Mission leader also described the dispute as an unfortunate reminder that, regardless of status or family background, everyone is human and capable of making mistakes.

“Things like this happen in every family and make us know that we’re humans and we have blood running through our veins. To err is human, no matter how great the person is or the kind of family you come from, you’re still human,” he shared.

He therefore appealed to Ghanaians to forgive the family and allow them to resolve their differences privately.

“Ghanaians should forgive us,” Akofena pleaded.
