Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale expressed his desire to collaborate with the Ghana Gold Board to promote locally made jewellery and strengthen ties between the creative industry and corporate institutions.
The SM boss, during a meeting with the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, which he attended alongside rapper Medikal, said the visit was aimed at exploring partnership opportunities while supporting the Board’s “Made in Ghana Jewelry” initiative.
He began by thanking Sammy Gyamfi for hosting them, saying, “Honorable, thank you, we just want to say God bless you once again for honouring us. You know, for people from the streets, sometimes we also just need a collaboration like this.”
Shatta Wale went on to introduce members of his entourage, including Medikal’s manager, his business manager and his road manager, before explaining the purpose of their visit.

“And we literally came here for a collaboration. I’ve been discussing with my brother the things we’ve been seeing you do in Ghana and how hard you are working. I was recently telling him that even though we wanted to come and see you for other stuff, we also wanted to be a part of your team,” he said.
The musician revealed that the Ghana Gold Board’s jewellery campaign inspired the visit, noting that he was impressed by the products being promoted.
“When I saw the jewellery, I was just crazy about it. I was like, ‘No, we need to come and see you and discuss and have a good understanding of it,” he stated.
According to Shatta Wale, one of the key reasons for the meeting was to seek support for his upcoming Shattafest event in the United Kingdom while creating stronger partnerships between the entertainment industry and the corporate world.
“So basically we’re here for our Shattafest that we’re going to do in the UK, and also to ask for a little collaboration where we can merge the streets with the corporates world,” he explained.
He added that many entertainers often hesitate to approach corporate institutions for partnerships, a mindset he hopes to change.
“I believe most of the time we get scared to approach people like your team. But I want to break that yoke and make sure we can also call on you people when we need support,” he said.
Shatta Wale also expressed interest in becoming an ambassador for Ghana Gold Board’s jewellery initiative, stressing that locally crafted jewellery could help project a positive image of Ghana internationally.
“Apart from that, we also want to be part of your jewellery project. He likes jewellery, I like jewellery, but I was telling him if we have to get the proper jewellery to wear and sell Ghana properly, this is the way to go,” he said pointing ti Medikal
He concluded by reiterating that the visit was intended to formally present their proposal for collaboration.
“So that’s why we came here to see you and let you know this is our agenda. Thank you very much,” concluded
