Ghanaian music group Keche has disclosed that they decided to remove their collaboration with King Paluta titled My Father from online platforms after the rapper allegedly failed to support the song’s promotion.
In an interview with Ola Michael on Peace FM on May 19, 2026, Keche said the song had the potential to become a major hit, but they were disappointed by King Paluta’s lack of interest in promoting it.
“The song ‘My Father’, I told my management that they should take it down from the internet. The song is an extreme hit song, based on the words in there,” Joshua said.
According to the group, King Paluta initially told them he was unwell, prompting them to delay their promotional activities while waiting for him to recover.
“It’s just that King Paluta decided not to post the song at all, but he was busily promoting other songs. We called him several times after he said he was sick so we had to wait for him,” he explained.
However, they later sensed that Paluta was merely not interested in the song.
“We waited for him because we felt we’re supposed to work together collectively, but it’s like he’s not interested in the song we all made,” he shared.

The group further noted that they were surprised to hear King Paluta state that he was not indebted to them and that it was his time to shine.
Keche disclosed that shortly after shelving “My Father”, they released another song, which quickly gained traction.
“Later, we heard him saying in an interview that he’s not owing us anything and it’s his time. The following week, we released a new song and it became a big song. We decided not to promote it because we don’t need him to have a hit song,” Joshua stated.
To support their point, Keche cited previous successful collaborations with artistes such as Kuami Eugene and Bisa Kdei, noting that both artistes actively helped promote the songs.
Keche stressed the importance of teamwork and mutual support in collaborations, saying that when all parties contribute, the outcome is usually more successful.
“All the songs we’ve released, we featured the likes of Kuami Eugene and Bisa Kdei were all hits. They’re big artistes but they tried their best to promote it. Kuami Eugene even promoted the song more than us. Collectively, we should all support so it will be nice,” he added.
