Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste Kelvyn Boy has disclosed the reasons why he has distanced himself from the church.
According to him, the behaviour of both pastors and congregation members have resulted in him not going to church anymore.
Speaking in an interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime, the singer was asked whether he still attends the Seventh-day Adventist church.
He responded, "It's been a long while. Recently, the church has not been attractive to me," he said.
Kelvyn Boy explained that it is not doctrine or theology that turned him away, but the people he observed within the church that led to his decision.
"The people who even go to church, the way most of them behave, how they react to things, the way they treat people, I feel like 'no,'" he said.

When pressed on whether his disappointment lies more with pastors or with church members, the artist said he holds both equally accountable.
On the pastoral side, he lamented what he described as a shortage of genuinely good spiritual leaders and a failure to use their positions to support those in need.
"For the pastors, you can't even see the good ones. I feel like pastors should share what they get and support people. I don't see that," he said.
Touching on the congregants, Kelvyn Boy unraveled the hypocrisy he witnessed as well as the culture of judgment and social hierarchy.
"For the churchgoers, the kind of things they engage in before and after church just puts me off. And most of them judge you by your appearance. They practise some sort of hierarchy and determine who sits at the front or at the back. All of that just put me off," he said.
