Big-name musicians helping upcoming artistes find their footing is very important, according to Afrobeats singer Kelvynboy.
In an interview on TV3 on March 5, 2026, Kelvynboy, a protege from the BHIM Nation camp, acknowledged that just as Stonebwoy gave him a helping hand when he was on the rise, it is right for him to also support younger artistes.
According to him, he does not necessarily need to be the biggest name in the industry to help, saying the younger artistes are talented and need support.
“I think it is very important; it’s like giving a helping hand, like Stonebwoy did for me. Even when I was singing in the church, it was a guy who took me there and introduced me, showing that I can also sing. So, ‘let’s give him a chance.’ I feel like I don’t have to be as big as I want to be before I can also help,” he said.

The “Mea” singer, who dedicated almost all of 2025 to supporting younger artistes, noted that when he goes for studio sessions, he meets upcoming talents and notices how exceptionally good they are. He then decides to use his fame to support them.
He disclosed that those he has helped so far are doing well, as people continue to give him positive feedback about the younger artistes he is supporting.
