Ghanaian music duo Keche have criticised what they described as a growing trend of artistes attempting to undermine their colleagues to elevate themselves.
Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM on March 31, 2026, the duo shared their thoughts on competition and personal values within the music industry.
Joshua Keche, highlighting the issues of sabotage in the industry, advised such artistes to keep mute over issues they do not know about.
“Some artistes go places and try to dent the image of their fellow artistes in order to seem big or better. You don’t know what is in people’s houses. Shut up,” he said.
His bandmate, Andrew Keche, said he chooses over rivalry and would rather focus on living a healthy, contented life.
“One thing that humbles me is that you can have everything and not have a good life. I am not in competition with anybody,” he stated, adding that wealth does not necessarily translate into happiness or self-fulfilment.
Andrew further noted that he avoids making others feel inferior and prefers to focus solely on his craft.
“I don’t want to feel like I am intimidating somebody or making someone feel unworthy. I don’t have friends in the industry. We are just doing music,” he added.
