Media personality Kweku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has publicly distanced himself from Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy following the musician’s recent statements at a FIFA World Cup fundraising launch.

The backlash stems from Stonebwoy’s claim during the event that his song “Jejereje” played a role in influencing President Mahama and the NDC’s 2024 election victory, a statement that has since sparked heated debate across media platforms and among industry players.

Reacting to the development, KOKA described the comment as unnecessary and expressed strong disappointment in the artiste.

He further criticised Stonebwoy’s public posture, accusing him of “acting like he knows it all,” which he believes is damaging to his image and relationships within key circles.

In a decisive move, KOKA revealed that he would no longer support Stonebwoy’s music in political spaces, vowing to ensure that no Stonebwoy songs are played at events affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“I have deleted all of Stonebwoy’s songs. From today, I disassociate myself from Stonebwoy. There was no issue anywhere. How long has it been since the elections? Saying ‘Jejereje’ played a significant role in the president’s win was not needed. Stonebwoy is a hypocrite who acts as if he knows everything,” KOKA fumed.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy has granted a series of interviews addressing his comments amid backlash from critics, politicians, and even some of his fans.
