A member of the NPP communications team and entertainment critic, Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has insisted that Stonebwoy’s songs should not be played at events organised by the NPP.
Speaking to the media, KOKA said if he attends any NPP event where songs by the BHIM Nation President are played, those in charge will have to retrieve their equipment from the Korle Lagoon.
He further noted that, unlike Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale openly declares his support when he aligns with a political party, rather than behaving as though he is trying to outsmart everyone.
Sack Dzifa Gomashie, she has failed the creative space - KOKA
“If there’s an NPP event and Stonebwoy’s song is played at the programme, they might as well retrieve equipment from the Korle Lagoon.
“As for Shatta Wale, when he aligns with the NDC, he makes it clear he’s with them. He doesn’t try to play both sides. But Efo always tries to present himself as though he’s wiser than everyone,” he said.
KOKA’s comments are in response to Stonebwoy’s statements at the Black Stars World Cup Fundraiser, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra on March 21, 2026, where he said his song ‘Jejereje’ contributed to the National Democratic Congress’s victory in the 2024 elections.
However, KOKA emphasised that when the NPP was in government, Stonebwoy was closely affiliated with the party and some of its top officials.
“Stonebwoy is NPP. He is Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko’s boy. He is Gyankroma Akufo-Addo’s friend. These were also some of the allegations levelled against the artiste by the then opposition NDC," KOKA stated.
