Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has explained why he describes himself as “half-human, half-spirit.”
Speaking with GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar on Talkertainment, he stated that every human being possesses two sides: an inner spiritual being and an outer human nature.
He explained that this spiritual aspect exists in everyone, but not all individuals are able to recognize or develop it.

“I’m half human, half spirit. There’s a spirit in everyone, a lot of people don’t harness that part of them, but there’s a spirit in everyone,” he said
According to him, his self-description stems from his ability to identify and harness his innermost spiritual being.
A Plus added that many people rely on pastors or spiritual figures for prayers because they have not tapped into this inner aspect of themselves. He noted that once a person is able to discover and fully harness their spiritual side, they may not need external spiritual intervention.
“People go to church to go and get people to pray for them because they are not harnessing what they already have,” he stated.
He emphasised that his claim of being “half-human, half-spirit” is not based on any external spiritual powers, but rather on his personal realization and use of his inner spiritual nature, which he says works for him.
“I have the human part, and I have the spirit part. I have connected the dots. Some people think that spirit is putting powder on your face and holding a whisk but that is not it. It depends on your definition of spiritual,” he added.
