Gordon Asare-Bediako, a National Communications Director aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has withdrawn from the race and thrown his full support behind Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

He explained that the decision followed extensive consultations with family, friends and other prominent individuals, leading him to end his candidature.

Asare-Bediako said the move was in the best interest of the party, as it would foster unity and help restore its glory.

“After deep reflection, wide consultation with family, friends and stakeholders across our great party, and prayerful consideration of what is best for the New Patriotic Party at this defining moment, I have decided to withdraw my candidature for the position of National Communications Director,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

He subsequently endorsed the candidature of Dennis Miracles Aboagye, whom he described as well-versed in communications at both the party and national levels, based on his previous roles.

Asare-Bediako urged his supporters to back Aboagye in the upcoming NPP national elections, expressing confidence that his leadership would strengthen the party’s communications team ahead of the general elections.

“Miracles needs no introduction to our party. As Spokesperson and Communications Director for the 2024 Bawumia Presidential Campaign, and through years of frontline advocacy for the NPP, he has demonstrated the courage, discipline, strategic depth and command of message that this moment demands. He is battle-tested, articulate and respected across the length and breadth of our party.

“I have no doubt that under his leadership, the NPP’s communication front will be sharper, louder and more effective than ever before. I urge all delegates who have supported my candidature, and to whom I remain eternally grateful, to channel that same energy and goodwill behind Dennis Miracles Aboagye,” he added.
