Tensions flared at the New Patriotic Party, NPP, national headquarters as members from the Ayawaso Central Constituency were denied entry while seeking to submit a petition demanding the release of the party’s polling station album.
According to a post by UTV Ghana on X on August 10, 2026, and sighted by GhanaWeb, a group of party supporters, clad in red, black and white colours, gathered at the gate of the headquarters.
In the video, some attempted to push against the gate with placards while engaged in heated exchanges with security personnel as they insisted on presenting their petition.
While they kept pushing each other to get inside the building, some were heard shouting, "Let's all go inside. We are all going."
The situation briefly escalated into confrontations until the gate was forcefully closed, leaving the agitated crowd outside.
The petition centres on the release of the polling station album, the official record of polling station executives.
The document is used to determine eligibility and participation in constituency and regional elections.
