V.O.A Radio Scooped GAB Award

On Sunday, 10th October, Voice of Africa broke a new record when she became the first African internet radio station to receive an award of excellence for the outstanding contribution to the positive image of Africa and Africans in the United Kingdom.

The project manager, Space Clottey, was bewildered as the triumph over the other strong nominees - in the same category - echoed through the ears of over 500 sons and daughters of Africa present at the Holiday Inn-Kensington Forum to witness the Africa?s version of Oscar.

In his acceptance speech Space Clottey thanked the almighty father for the strength and ability imposed in him to carry-out this media liberation in the UK, he also thanked the numerous voluntary staff and presenters who have helped to make this award possible, he then went on to thank the organisers for recognizing that the Voice of Africa Radio is a force to be reckoned with.

On Sunday 10th October 2004 Voice of Africa Radio founder and CEO Space Clottey was presented with an award of excellence for the outstanding contribution to the positive image of Africa and Africans in the United Kingdom.

The citation reads. ?The founder of the Voice of Africa Radio has continued to struggle to change the media landscape in the UK his radio station today commands over 300,000 listeners to their award winning website, over 650,000 visitors and over 500 e-mails per week. www.voiceofafricaradio.com is a world class website.

Voice of Africa Radio is the first African organisation to win an OFCOM license to operate a sky radio service. With FM license following suit by next year.
