The Minnesota chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Sunday organized a picnic with a call on the rank and file of the party to help President Akufo-Addo fulfil his electioneering promises.

Despite a heavy downpour, the spirits of party members were not dampened, as they thronged the event grounds in their numbers.

The event which brought together party members from the nook and cranny of the US State, was aimed at fostering unity among party members and work towards recapturing political power in 2020.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the chapter, Joseph Boakye Danquah, urged the members to adopt an all-hands-on-deck approach, to enable the party achieve its objectives.

He said it is imperative for the party to negate the propaganda by opposition politicians so that people don’t fall for them.

Mr Boakye Danquah said party followers must support what he termed as the “NPP project” to ensure that the Ghanaian economy is put on a sound footing.

“We must join hands in supporting the party and President Akufo-Addo to achieve his goals. As party members, we must endeavor to support the government with all the resources at our disposal to help the party and the country,” he added.

It was in this direction that Mr JB Danquah disclosed that plans are afoot to compile a comprehensive data of Ghanaians in Minnesota, particularly those with specialized skills and background or education that would be needed to help bring up policies and ideas that would transform the country.

He added: “There are lots of Ghanaians living in Minnesota with unique skills and as chairman of the branch, I will ensure that all these people are identified and their talents harness for the development of our nation”.
