GNC distributes back-to-school supplies to Ghanaian Community kids

Chicago IL, August 20 2016: For anything to grow into an institution with the participation from across generations it must be done in continuity and organized better than the previous year. The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago, GNC, is on that path of institutionalizing the back to school program in the Ghanaian Community here. About 90 kids had earlier registered online, making it easier for distributing the supplies. Last year 45 children registered. Each gift package was pre-labeled in the beneficiary's name. With broad smiles on the faces of the kids and their parents, we hope the GNC will not only repeat the program next year but rather increase participation to include all Ghanaian kids across the Chicagoland.

Present to distribute the items to the children were the President of the GNC, Mr. Ebenezer Antwi Nsiah; Business Manager Fred Eddie-Quartey; Organizer, Mr. Steve Dei; Treasurer Evelyn Mensah; Secretary, Saddick Aboagye and others.
The event took place at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church ,1012 E. 47th St. Chicago IL, where the Ghanaian Catholic Community Church worships on Sundays from 1 p.m to 3 pm. The Resident Pastor, Father John Owusu, donated the space for the presentation.
