Koby Maxwell to celebrate Ghana independence in American Diaspora

The west African nation of Ghana will turn 59 in March 2016 and as part of celebrations, Koby Maxwell, a Ghanaian entertainer and artist based in the USA will be hosting his annual Ghana independence celebrations ball to commemorate the event.

Koby Maxwell begun the independence celebrations for Ghanaians living in the American Diaspora in the year 2013 as a display of his love for his country Ghana and to celebrate its exemplary leadership in Africa.

Ghana is the first sub-Saharan country in Africa to declare independence from British colonial rule on March 6, 1957.

Koby Maxwell Productions (KMP), organizers of Ghana 59th Ball say it will happen from 9PM Eastern Standard Time on March 12-13, 2016 at the Friendship Center on 9055 Maier Road in Laurel, Maryland in the USA. KMP revealed to TheAfricanDream.net that the 2016 event will see Ghanaian born Nollywood actor Chris Attoh return as host for the occasion after he hosted the inaugural edition in 2013.

"Because of the growth we have experienced over the years, KMP is being joined by Vantage Firm, David PRO and Jah PRO to promote this year's event. We are also proud to have South African Airways, a multiple award winning airline and a Star Alliance member who now flies direct to Accra in Ghana from Washington Dulles as our official sponsor.

Special guests at the event will include Haitian actress Blondedy Ferdinand who is a 3 time Best Actress award winner in her island nation, Miss Africa USA 2015 winner Fatoumata Sy, and Betty G; the Ethiopian songstress.

Ghanaian celebrities Ama K Abebrese and Prince David Osei will also be there, as well as Cameroonian singer songwriter and rapper Naomi Achu among other guests within the African diplomatic and Diaspora community.

Organizers of the event are working hard to ensure that people attending, whether as guests, media or audiences will be offered a greater opportunity to learn more about the African entertainment and fashion industry, culture and history and how they are positively impacting the USA and beyond.

This year the event will highlight and award the efforts of African Women of Influence in the Community. Koby Maxwell will also use the event to release his latest music compilation titled "The Album". Tickets for the event are now available online.
