Mpiani Address Ghanaians in UK On Reshuffle

The Chief of Staff, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani says the recent Cabinet reshuffle by President John Agyekum Kufuor is not aimed at demoting or promoting any of the ministers.

He said the constitution of the country gives the president the prerogative to appoint people to man Ministries and this is done according to the knowledge and ability of the ministers.

He said the president acknowledges the potentials as well as the abilities of the appointees and he is optimistic that they can deliver. He said the president has not only worked with all of them but also traced their track records at various levels and places of employment and found them to be suitable for the jobs assigned them.

Mr. Mpiani was speaking on a Ghanaian radio station programme in London, Rabbi Show, is a news and current affairs programme on WAKS 102.8 FM hosted by Nana Obeng Badu and Nana Sifa Twum. The Chief of Staff observed that most of the ministers have performed creditably and need to be commended.

According to him, implementation of most government policies and programmes were made possible mainly by to dint of hard work, dedication and commitment of the ministers. He said, in the eyes of the public, some of the ministers may have performed to their satisfaction but by and large their work together with the entire people of the country, has seen the nation this far. He, however, intimated that those who may be found wanting will be asked to give way to more competent ones.

This is because there are many more people who can also contribute their quota in the development of the nation in such manner. On the recognition of some ministries, the Chief of Staff declared that many factors were taken into consideration and after careful analysis, the president came out of eith best. He expressed the hope that the move will work well for the nation.
