An albatross on NPP-UK

"Hayford Atta-Krufi and his campaign group are often economical with the truth and an albatross on NPP-UK"

By Ami Dede Djaba, London. Date: 12 November 2014

The persons who wrote the recent article with a similar title about Dede Djaba on 27 October 2014 are extremely ignorant, economical with the truth and sick in the head. My response is as follows:

1. Osibisa Radio, an NDC radio station based in London, UK published an article which I knew nothing about on Ghana web during the NPP flagbearership elections and its aftermath. They poached my photograph from Facebook, however, clearly attributed the source to www.osibisaradio.com. It is amazing how many people, immediately assumed that I had written the article. I wish to state categorically that I did not write the article. I was at the dentist when my attention was drawn to various dissenting people within the NPP round the world.

2. These ignorant people went on the rampage, calling me all sorts of nasty names, threats and accusations. Suzy of Luton called me a mad cow with mad cow disease. How? Why? I am an innocent victim. The NPP is not worth dying for or being destroyed for. They attempted to destroy my reputation and my career in the UK and beyond without reasonable justification. For what? Professional journalism and ethics demand that someone should have telephoned me, and/or interviewed me to ascertain whether I had written the article and clarified matters. I had no say in the matter. I was not consulted.

3. Without checking, Ms Otiko Djaba issued a premature statement and went on radio stations, insulting and denigrating her own elder sister. Upon checking, she went on some radio stations for the purpose of damage control. By then, the damage had already been done. The NPP is on a path of self-destruction if they do not learn to sort out their differences in private.

4. Okoampa Ahoofe Jr, the 5 feet tall deranged professor from New York, married to an Ewe lady & also Nana Addo's cousin, quickly jumped on the bandwagon without carrying out any enquiries, He wrote an extremely damaging article referring to Dede as "419." Why? He should be ashamed of himself. Dede has never met him and deliberately refused to meet him in South London when he came to the UK for a wedding with his wife and children, because he is a hypocrite and so full of himself. He should learn to stop attacking Ewes and minority tribes. He attacked Alan Kyerematen throughout the recent primaries, yet was never reprimanded. His vitriolic writing has cost NPP votes in the past and will continue to cost them votes.

5. The Akufo-Addo for 2016 UK Campaign group issued a rather damning, hypocritical, provocative and contradictory statement. What did they hope to achieve? To destroy the good name of Dede Djaba? Did they really think about their words before they published the article? Did they think Ms Djaba would take the words lying down? A practising lawyer in the UK? Then they are entirely mistaken.

6. Hayford Atta-Krufi is a failed soldier with a law degree, yet he was a school teacher in London. Even that, he could not do well. He is the architect of the free SHS which could not win us the election in 2012.

7. Hayford and his No-Nana-no-vote brigade were booted out of the Chairmanship and other top executive positions in the NPP UK for a reason. They are arse lickers who served no purpose. They are divisive and seek just to destroy their best and hardworking workers. They think women are there to be screwed and did not do any work during campaign 2008 and 2012. They took Nana Addo's money and campaign funds generated from the hard working cleaners, minicab men, security officers, illegal immigrants and odd job people who comprise their voluntary group(s).

8. The only mistake that Ms Djaba made was to try and defend this same Otiko Djaba, Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong on Sources Radio. They worship Otiko for her facial beauty. Ms Djaba is prepared to meet the faceless, nameless bullies and trolls who call themselves Akufo-Addo for 2016 campaign group for an intelligent debate.

9. What they have published is rather a figment of their imagination and full of lies. It should be treated with the contempt that it deserves. Ms Djaba's father married Nana Akufo-Addo's aunt, Victoria Boafo. They had 4 children, Kelvin, Baby Carlotta (aka Dede Djaba US who attended Achimota School), Keni-Koko, a wine merchant in Ghana and fashion designer, and David Djaba based in the USA. They are all from Kibi. Nana Addo used to spend weekends and holidays at Henry Djaba's palatial home on Djaba Road in Somanya.

For the record, Ms Djaba has met Nana Akufo-Addo on several occasions including during the state visit to the UK in May 2007, in London and in Liverpool, at Denver Colorado during the 3-day NPP International Conference in May 2009, at party meetings, NPP fundraising dinner-dances, one-to-one meeting in October 2013, in the presence of the "beautiful Maame Becky" and her daughter who was pregnant at the time etc. Ms Dede Djaba also worked closely with Lawyer Godwin Gyamfi and Gabby Otchere-Darko on articles for the Mabey and Johnson case with the backing of Nana Addo. Behind the scenes, she has done a lot of work for the New Patriotic party for which she has received no credit to date, just insults upon insults.

10. Nobody should take this campaign group in the UK serious. They can win primaries by over-voting, using force and intimidator tactics, yet cannot win a general election. The same divisive messages contributed to the loss the NPP elections in 2008 and 2012. The total disunity and desire to destroy each other, like crabs in a bucket is glaringly obvious. They preach peace, yet secretly destroy each other, hiding behind the internet and so-called campaign groups. The author(s) should state their real name(s) and e-mail address. A law suit from them will only expose the weaknesses of their preferred candidate. Anyone who did not support Nana Addo openly is declared persona non grata and a "traitor."

11. They often use guerrilla tactics and discrepancies in primaries and in elections in the UK. They want to perpetuate themselves like dictators such as the late Muamar Al-Gaddafi. Atta Krufi wanted us to vote for him so he could stay a third term? Well, we said a resounding "NO." He was booted out and has not recovered. He needs counselling to get over it. He is often on radio stations such as Sources Radio UK denigrating the current executives. He thinks he should be in the power seat to control the campaign funds and the rest of us. Tweaaa.

12. Ms Dede Djaba spent a lot of her time advising the NPP UK, attending meetings and travelled at her own expense and to her detriment to assist the losers that they are. Nobody said "thank you". When some of the Executive members saw her on the campaign trail, they deliberately ignored her. Yet expected her to stand on rally platforms and at radio stations singing praises to the "All-die-be-die" sycophants.

13. Ms Djaba dares them to take this matter to court. The matter of drug use, drug abuse and any other matter that they deem are 'denigrating' anyone. They rather have denigrated Ms Djaba on several occasions and several platforms, thinking they can get away with it.

14. In the UK, 1 out of 4 people on any given street has suffered some form of mental health challenge. To use mental health against one of their best and intelligent activists is a disgrace. Even Winston Churchill had problems. Einstein had problems, so what?

15. Enough is enough. Unless they stop their vilification and unnecessary rhetoric, Ms Djaba intends to match them boot-for-boot, bumper-to-bumper. They do not have the moral right to insult.

16. Otiko Djaba, a former NDC activist Lawyer Dede Djaba's half-sister. By denigrating Ms Djaba, they are denigrating Otiko. If your sister is mad and locked up in a lunatic asylum and you go and tell the whole world, who are you disgracing? You are disgracing yourself.

17. Ms Djaba is alive and well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her. She just speaks her mind, is an honest politician and is not afraid to declare dissenting views. In her opinion, it will be extremely difficult to market a 70 year old man who has been marketed on two separate occasions to an electorate that does not always tell the truth to party activists on the campaign trail. An electorate that demands money and other incentives from all the candidates prior to voting. It is an extremely corrupt system and unless we have civic education, we will forever be on the back foot and encounter disappointments.

18. Ms Dede Djaba never said she was a women's organiser in the NPP UK. What she said was twisted by Al Hajj newspaper in an article manufactured in December 2012 after an interview on Adom FM. She was of the opinion that Akufo-Addo should retire gracefully and become an elder statesman. She predicted that they would lose the Supreme Court Petition as courts and judges can be unpredictable. She said she was" vying for the Deputy Women's Organiser position in the NPP UK in 2009. It was an appointed position" She supported Lawyer Richard Dombo instead of Hayford Atta Krufi for Chairman in 2009. That is why she has been attacked and insulted by various factions within the NPP UK and NPP Ghana.

19. When all is said and done, Hayford Atta-Krufi has launched a vendetta of evil, hypocrisy, personal attacks, verbal insults, written insults and lies against Ms Djaba for several years just to perpetuate his own position. He wants to be Minister for Education. This will never happen as they have to learn how to win an election first. The sole purpose of the article was to provoke and destroy. He envies Ms Djaba's position as a member and secretary of the Constitutional Review Committee, NPP UK and member of the Communications Team and advisor and contributor to the NPP Youth Team activities. Ms Djaba is a professional fundraiser and a politician in the UK. She is an asset to any organisation. She is articulate and has a command of the English language in addition to the local dialects. Atta Krufi, eat your heart out!!
