QNF, Ghanaians in the diaspora help Christine undergo plastic surgery

The Quaye Nungua Foundation, an NGO based in Ghana and listeners of Akwantufuo Radio, a UK based radio station have helped Christine Agbagba undergo a plastic surgery to remove unwanted tissue in her breast.

The attention was drawn to listeners of Akwantufuo Radio UK of the plight of Christine, 14-year-old girl hailing from Asukawkaw in the Volta Region.

Management of the station then contacted the parents of Christine through her church Pastor, Rev Afewu.

Upon arranging with the medical team at Korle Bu Teaching hospital, a surgery was slated for April 10th.

Although the family was undecided on the day of the initial surgery, a further consultation was made and the surgery was rescheduled for the 15th of May 2014.

This time the family was resolved to let their daughter undergo the surgery which lasted about 6 hours.

After the surgery, a more delighted Christine spoke to Samuel Acquah, affectionately known as Papa Smiley, the CEO of the station on how she feels and her excitement was beyond measure.

Asked what profession she would want to get in, she simply replies ‘I want to be a doctor so I can help people like me’’.

Upon reaching Asukawkaw, the entire village was thrown into a state of shock and joy when they saw the beautiful new breast of Christine.
