NPP-USA Constitutes a Diverse NEC and NBA

In accordance with Article 4.2 and 4.7 of the NPP-USA bylaws, the NPP-USA has elected and appointed its National Executive Council (NEC) and National Board of Advisors (NBA) for the next political administrative years. This comes on the back of a successful congress that was held in Charlotte, NC, under the theme “Unifying the Party and Empowering the People to Secure Victory”.

The NEC and NBA comprise of competent and experienced men and women with a resolute commitment to the progress of the New Patriotic Party and Ghana at large. The NPP-USA fraternity to complement the mother party in Ghana to successfully prosecute a winning agenda for 2016 has relayed the NEC with the daunting task and responsibility: winning political victory in election 2016.

Now, the council and board reflect not only the pool of talent available to the NPP, but also the diversity in ethnicity, gender, religious, social and economic backgrounds that they represent. It is a throwback to, and reflection of our tradition – The UP Tradition.

The UP, which is the back bone of the NPP, was a merger of parties that were united in their common goal of opposing Nkrumah's dictatorial tendencies. These parties included the Northern Peoples Party, Muslim Association Party, National Liberation Movement (NLM), Anlo Youth Organization, Togoland Congress, the Ga Shifimokpee, Aborigines Right Protection Society and the Ghana Congress Party. These were parties with people from different ethnic, religious, economic, social, regional and sectional orientation. And that is the exact representation of the current NEC and NBA of NPP-USA.

Importantly, this new face of the party in the USA is also serving as a strong reminder to the masses about where the NPP comes from. It goes to refute the reckless propaganda by our political opponents who seek to force down the throat of unsuspecting Ghanaians that the NPP is an Akan Party. It is also important to note that the Nasara Coordinator position, which hitherto was not part of the executive body, has been elevated to the NEC level due to the growing number of the Nasara members within our fold, whiles Augustine Agbenaza (a brother from NPP’s waterloo – the Volta Region) has been elected as the General Secretary of the NPP-USA. In fact, the NEC is composed of members that reflect the broad diversity of Ghana. Members are from the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Eastern, Northern, Upper West, Western and the Volta Regions. Indeed the Council is a testimony to the fact that NPP is truly a national party (a “rainbow” coalition of Ghana).



Indeed, the composition of the NEC and NBA clearly shows that everyone is capable of playing a leading role in the party regardless of religion, region, ethnic, gender, social and economic background.

The above persons, who constitute the NEC, have pledged their resolve and commitment to work tirelessly to shoulder the NPP to political victory in 2016. Not only have they accepted various portfolios and their accompanying responsibilities, but they also constitute the highest decision-making body of NPP-USA. Additionally, they have handed down to some very learned, experienced, respected, and politically savvy individuals within the NPP-USA, the responsibility to serve as an advisory board.

Chairman Agyei-Yeboah is appreciative of the talents that have been assembled to lead the branch, and thankful to each and every member of the entire NPP-USA family for accepting to be part of the cause of the NPP, voluntarily. Then again, he is grateful to fellow Patriots for reposing such a huge confidence in him to lead the august and vibrant branch for another term. He calls for all hands to be on deck.

With this high caliber of distinguished men and women fronting the NPP-USA, and working with the mother party towards elections 2016, the incompetent and corrupt John Mahama and his NDC party can only brace themselves up for a political show down in subsequent days. The NPP is poised for electoral victory in 2016. And Chairman Agyei-Yeboah and his lieutenants are bent on prosecuting and executing this task with their entire wherewithal.
