GLU Raising Funds to Challenge Government

Ghana Leadership Union (GLU) Raising Funds to Challenge Government Acts and Strengthen Leadership

Ghana Leadership Union, Inc better known as GLU has announced a fundraising campaign to support better governance in Ghana. The online fundraiser was launched via online donation platform Indiegogo.com and will be used to finance legal action against poor service delivery, non-performance and needed amendment of the Ghana constitution and to help strengthen Ghana's democratic institutions.

GLU Co-founder Dr. Kwaku A. Danso says he decided to launch the fundraiser because he feels Ghanaian democracy is weakened when blatant acts of illegal governance go unchallenged. Citing the election dispute that sent the NDC and NPP to court, and many judgment debts that go unchallenged and unprosecuted, Dr. Danso said "Our democracy is only stronger when we employ all of the tools of citizenship available to us."

Their goal is to raise $3,500 USD by April 6, 2014 as part of a phased approach to ultimately collect $20,000 in 2014. For more information on the fund, visit: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/glu-legal-fund--2/x/5358396
