Ghanaians In Hamburg observe a minute‘s Silence for Mills

Ghanaians in and around Hamburg city of Germany in collaboration with Ghana Union – Hamburg and the ruling Party (NDC) and other various ethnic union representatives thronged to the forecourt of Ghana consulate in Hamburg amidst in bereaved red and Black to light candles and to present condolence Flowers to express their sympathy to the late President Mills.

At exactly 14.15 Hrs, there was solemn Silence observed by all participants at the forecourt and of course those at work places and various places. This was in line with Ghana Government official release to have statutorily declared Tuesday, 31 July as a day of one celebration in Ghana and abroad.

The crowd at the consulate proved that, politics can not disintegrate the true unity and the cultural heritage of Ghanaians. There was absolutely no exhibition of various political party colors.

The late Prof. Mills’ portrait photograph was however displayed outside the building during which Ghana Flags were positioned to fly at half-mast as national protocol required in observance of the lost of one’s beloved President. Unlike a cloudy Monday, the weather (Tuesday) seemed to be brighter and conducive for outdoor events and also explained the true nature of “Asomdwehene” Late Prof. Mills.

In attendance were: Ms. Sabine Werner (Secretary) who presented her condolence Flower on behalf of the Honorary Consul Herr Burich. The executives of African Christian Council were also there to conduct brief requiem mass readings and also to show their condolences. They were led by Pastor Ossai Okeke and Apostle Bona Boateng Sireboe.

“It’s our fervent prayer that the Lord God will strengthen the good people of Ghana and the will of God shall always prevail. May the late President rest in perfect peace” the renowned pastors consoled.

Others at the ceremony were the bereaved blood family members of the late president – Mrs. Marian Aba Anderson (Niece) and Mr. Francis Anderson Relative. Officials of the Ghana Union Humbug led by, Mr. Donkor Fofie, and NPP Germany Representatives led by Mrs. Mary Oduro as well as Madam Esther Grobbe, Joe Buckman, Kwabena Nyamekye, Alhaji Raji all executive Members of ruling NDC Hamburg Branch.
