NPP Loyal Ladies has taken another significant step in its mission to inspire and empower the next generation of Ghanaian women leaders through a high-level engagement with British Members of Parliament Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Dawn Butler at the House of Commons, the elected chamber of the United Kingdom Parliament.

The visit formed part of the organisation’s broader leadership development initiative, exposing young Ghanaian women to global democratic institutions while encouraging greater participation in politics, governance, entrepreneurship, and public service.

Although NPP Loyal Ladies is affiliated with Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its hosts serve as Members of Parliament for the UK’s Labour Party, the engagement was intentionally non-partisan.

It reflected a shared belief that empowering women, strengthening democratic participation, and investing in future leaders are aspirations that rise above political ideology and create opportunities for collaboration across borders.

The meeting provided an enriching platform for discussions on women in leadership, democratic governance, mentorship, youth empowerment, and practical strategies for encouraging more women to participate confidently in decision-making at every level of society.

For the delegation, the visit represented far more than an opportunity to tour one of the world’s oldest parliamentary democracies. It served as a powerful reminder that leadership is built through preparation, resilience, integrity, and a commitment to public service.

Throughout the engagement, the British parliamentarians shared personal reflections on their journeys into public office, highlighting the importance of representation, perseverance, mentorship, and creating pathways that enable more women to enter leadership.

Speaking after the meeting, Grace Akosua Amoabeng, Director of Communications for NPP Loyal Ladies, described the engagement as an investment in the future of Ghanaian women.

“We want every young Ghanaian woman to know that leadership is not a privilege for a few—it is a possibility for everyone who is willing to prepare, serve, and lead with integrity.”

Roberta Baaba Pobee, UK Captain of NPP Loyal Ladies, said the visit demonstrated the importance of international learning and collaboration.

“When women connect across borders to learn from one another, they return home better equipped to inspire change in their own communities.”

According to Lucy Obeng, Director for Diaspora and Special Projects, global engagement plays an important role in empowering women.



“The diaspora is more than a community abroad; it is a bridge that creates opportunities, builds leaders, and empowers Ghanaian women to think globally while serving locally.”

Karen Nyuiemedi Kemetse, Director for Diaspora and Special Projects, emphasised that every international partnership creates lasting opportunities for future generations.

“Every global connection we build is an investment in the next generation of Ghanaian women. Our goal is to open doors so that young women can walk through them with confidence.”

For Josephine Efia Asare, Ashanti Regional Commander and Special Projects Coordinator, the experience reinforced the importance of readiness in leadership.

“Young women should never underestimate the power of preparation. When opportunity meets a prepared woman, she becomes a leader capable of transforming her community and her nation.”

Founded in 2016, NPP Loyal Ladies has grown into one of Ghana’s leading women-focused political organisations, with more than 32,000 members and active chapters across Ghana, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Malaysia.

Through leadership development, mentorship, civic engagement, political education, and community service, the organisation continues to equip women with the confidence, knowledge, and opportunities needed to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s democratic and national development.

The Westminster engagement reflects NPP Loyal Ladies’ growing commitment to exposing its members to international best practices in leadership while building relationships that encourage women to participate more actively in governance and public life.



As Ghana continues to pursue greater inclusion in leadership, the organisation believes empowering women is not simply about increasing representation—it is about unlocking the nation’s full potential.

For countless young girls across Ghana, the images from the House of Commons carried a powerful message that extended far beyond the walls of Parliament: leadership has no borders, learning never ends, and every girl should have the confidence to dream boldly, prepare intentionally, seize opportunities, and believe that her voice can shape the future.

The engagement concluded with a renewed commitment by NPP Loyal Ladies to continue investing in mentorship, leadership development, international partnerships, and opportunities that inspire women and girls to become confident leaders, active citizens, and agents of positive change.
