The incumbent NPP-USA Branch First Vice Chairman, James Owusu, has declared his candidacy for the position of Branch Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) USA, citing a call to service and a desire to unite and empower party members.

With over two decades of experience in the party, including roles as TESCON P.R.O., Branch Youth Organizer and Chapter Chairman for Cincinnati, Owusu believes his leadership skills and dedication position him as a strong candidate for the role.

According to him in a statement, his campaign is built on key pillars: financial sustainability, digital transformation, strategic partnerships, youth and women’s empowerment and accountability.

He says "he aims to rebuild trust, deepen transparency, and restore a spirit of togetherness within the branch."

“The greatest strength of our party is not in titles or positions, but in the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood that unites us,” Owusu stated. “I have witnessed the sacrifices of our members, and it is for these patriots that I stand today.”

Owusu’s declaration comes at a pivotal time for the NPP, following the conclusion of its presidential primaries, where Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious.

The party is now focused on rebuilding and strengthening its structures ahead of upcoming national elections.

The contest for the Branch Chairman position is expected to be keenly fought, with Owusu’s experience and vision likely to resonate with many members. Supporters describe him as dedicated and forward-looking, expressing confidence in his ability to reposition the branch for greater impact.

The NPP-USA branch remains a vital component of the party’s global presence and Owusu believes strong leadership will further enhance its influence and organisational effectiveness.

His manifesto, expected to be unveiled in the coming days, will outline detailed plans for the branch’s growth and development. Observers say his focus on financial sustainability, digital transformation and youth empowerment could appeal strongly to the party’s grassroots base.

As members prepare to elect new leadership, Owusu says his candidacy represents a renewed commitment to unity, collective effort, and service to the party.
