Church of Pentecost U.S.A storm Tysons corner, VA

Tysons Corner, Virginia -- The Church of Pentecost U.S.A. Inc. Washington D.C Region, which consists of churches from Northern Virginia, Richmond, Atlanta, North and South Carolina and Florida Districts, held its 2010 Easter Convention April 2nd to April 4th at the Tysons Corner Sheraton Premiere Hotel, Vienna, VA. In attendance were 1,968 people.

The Easter Convention theme was “Jesus Christ Crucified: the Wisdom of God” 1 Corinthians 2:7. It marked the celebration of the suffering, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Convention was hosted by Pastor John Oppong Ofori of the Northern Virginia District and chaired by Evangelist Stephen Omane-Yeboah, the Washington Regional Head.

In his welcome address, the Host Pastor, Rev. John Ofori, indicated that, the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is the heartbeat and the center of the Christian faith and God’s redemptive plan for the sinful world. Without the cross, there is no gospel, without the gospel, there is no salvation and we would be still living in our sins.

The Host Pastor also added that the wisdom and the power that flowed from Christ’s death on the cross are the answers to the problems of today’s world and its seemly insurmountable spiritual, social, economic, political and physical challenges.

The Regional Head, Evangelist Stephen Omane-Yeboah, observed that, Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected according to God’s divine wisdom so that believers may find hope and strength in these difficult times. He also added that, for the world and those who have not been saved, Jesus Christ was also crucified for them and they have every opportunity to be redeemed by believing and accepting the crucified and resurrected Jesus Christ, as the Lord and Savior.
