GAGA making a difference through Golf

A few years ago a group of friends who loved to get out on weekends for a round of golf decided to use the game of golf to support various causes in Ghana.

A few more friends joined these "Weekend Warriors" and the Ghanaian-American Golfers Associations (GAGA, www.ghamgolfers.com) was born. GAGA can now boast of being the most diverse group of individuals you can find in any organization within the US, comprising of Africans, African-Americans, Americans and Filipinos alike. GAGA also span he various industries in the US economy.

The main objective of GAGA is to help tackle some of Africa's social problems through the wonderful game of golf. Two years ago we successfully organized our first ever charity golf outing to benefit the activities of the International Health Care Volunteers (IHCV), a group of doctors and nurses who travel to Africa to provide free medical care.

In 2008, IHCV was again the beneficiary of the net proceeds of our event. This year, we have selected Nana Eyeson's African Health Now's Breast Cancer Awareness outreach program as the beneficiary.

This year's event is scheduled for August 15th, 2009 at the Skyview Golf Club in Sparta New Jersey. GAGA believes that early detection to breast cancer will help reduce the fatalities caused by this dreadful ailment. We also believe that it should be our collective responsibility to ensure that our mothers and sisters are properly screened for breast cancer even as we work to find a cure.

There will be an open bar, dinner and a time to network after golf. This event is open to all golfers of all handicaps. There will be lucrative prices to be won for competitions like Hole in One, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin. Our sponsorship packages are as follows:
