The evening was colorful and the interaction between the generations of former students (ranging from those who graduated in 1964 to 2007) was indeed a moment to cherish for all who were present.

Officiating over the event were the National Executive members including, Professor Samuel Evans Adunyah; National President, Dr. Joe Okyere-Conduah; National VP, Mr. Osei Badu Nkansah; the National Secretary, Dr. Tony Osei (Osei Rough), National Publicity Officer, Mr. Bismark Yaw Asiamah of Chicago; President of the Midwest/Central Chapter of the Associations and Hon. Koby Koomson; former Ambassador of Ghana to USA.

The event began with an opening prayer by Edward Appiah followed by many other activities including elections to replace the interim executives. During the swearing in of the new executives, the national executives led by Prof. Adunyah and Dr. Conduah charged the new leaders of their responsibilities and mandate and doled out to them advice as they resume their new role as the leaders of the Chapter.

Mr. Bernard Laryea the President of the chapter on behalf of the new executives, implored members to avail themselves to the various committees which will be formed to help steer the affairs of the group. He indicated that there are very exciting programs coming up and information on this will be provided to members in due time. He stressed the need for members to pay their annual dues of $120 to help facilitate these activities. Fundraising efforts followed immediately afterwards and the commitment of Alumni present was manifested by the enthusiasm exhibited through pledges. The optimism displayed was fueled greatly by Ambassador Koomson whose tact, prose and delivery during the fundraising session left everyone with the impression of a distinguished career diplomat. He thus earned his stripes and an honorary alumnus designation was granted to him that night.

The keynote speaker of the function, Professor Samuel Evans Adunyah, also the National President of the Association in USA talked about the importance of owning up to our old school. He gave many strong leads to the members on how to work with the various corporations and institutions to donate to the KNUST. He also provided insight into some challenges and concepts which when employed will help the new chapter achieve greater success.

The wonderful food provided by the hotel and quality soundz from the DJ Zigay (himself an Alumnus) provided the right setting for an intense dance session which brought the curtains down on an all-round successful event. The new executives will like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed in any way to make this event a success.
