Miss Ghana Canada Pageant is back

The 2008 Miss Ghana Canada Pageant will be held on Saturday August 23, 2008 at Famee Furlane banquet hall located at 7065 Islington Ave, Woodbridge, Ont. from 7pm - 11pm.

Miss Ghana Canada Pageant a traditional beauty pageant for female’s ages 17-25 who are of Ghanaian Descent, the Pageant has been a part of the Ghanaian Canadian Community since 1998.

Speaking to the Ghanaian News in Toronto, Constance Aniwaah the Executive Producer of the Pageant, said “This year’s event will defiantly be a memorable one, because there is a new management team in place with fresh ideas and that the Pageant will be the biggest event of the year. We have experience judges across the industry who will do just right, the Winner wears the Crown and nothing else, Miss Ghana Canada was last held in 2004.” Other members of the New Management team include, Miss Bridged Bempong, Executive Director and Mr. Prince Mensah Promotion Manager.

The pageant identifies Ghanaian women in Canada who exemplify beauty, talent, supremacy and intelligence. It is to create new role models who through the beauty pageant will serve as ambassadors that will define a new Ghana, enrich the beauty of the Ghanaian Woman and enhance a new strength, energy and spirit for the advancement of women. This is a platform for young women to achieve personal growth and development, take pride in their heritage, and discover their inner beauty in achieving their humanitarian goals in life and laying a strong foundation as leaders of the future. Contestants will compete in Personal Interview, Swimsuit Wear, Evening Wear, and traditional Cultural Wear along with community charity involvement. The entrants will compete for a prize package valued at over $5,000 for the winner alone which includes a Round trip to Accra, Ghana, cash prize, educational scholarship, promotional opportunities during reign and much, much more.

Contestants may represent any city, region, province in which they currently reside, are employed in or were born in.
