NCOGA donates $5000 to the Northern Relief Fund

The National Council of Ghanaian Associations (NCOGA) presented a check of $5,000 to the Northern Development Fund (NDF) to aid victims in Northern Ghana who were affected by last year's flood. Nana Anane Amponsah, a representative of NCOGA and Asantefuohene of New York presented the check at a ceremony in Accra on May 13, 2008 and noted that the donation was part of NCOGA's contribution to help improve lives of the victims of the flood.

Receiving the donation on behalf of NDF, Dr. Hakeem Wemah, president of NDF noted that the fund was established by Ghanaians in the North to serve as a mouth piece of the people of the North. He commended and thanked NCOGA for the kind gesture and appealed to all well wishers, international partner organizations, and non-governmental agencies to work with NDF to achieve their aims of helping the people of the North.

NCOGA thanked those individuals and organizations who contributed in diverse ways towards the Northern Relief Fund.
