Ghanaian Community in New York are Shocked

The sudden death of Mr. Paul Kwabena Kusi Maafo that has occurred in the Tracy Towers at the Bronx, New York on the 1st February 2007 has shocked the entire Ghanaian Community.

Mr. Paul Kwabena Kusi Maafo was born on June 15th 1971. He was 36 years old and a former S.U. member at Prempeh College at Kumasi.

On the night, of Wednesday January 31st his friend Jene Gyeke who lives in the same building went and visited Maafo at his apartment where they both discussed their religious affiliations. During her visit to Maafo,he did not show any sign of sickness.

She left Maafo’s premises around 11;pm Maafo had urged her to give him a wake up call at 6:30am for him to go to work. Jane said she did not call at 6:30am on Thursday morning but she did call at 7am, Maafo did not pick up his cell phone. She latter placed another call, with no response.

It was 2 pm when she received a call from Maafo’s cell phone. When she saw his number she was angry that he had not responded to her. She then quickly found out that it wasn’t Maafo but Maafo’s sister who had used Maafo’s phone to call, to inform her that Maafo’ was dead in his bed with his Bible on his side.

Maafo lives with his sister Yaa Amposah (Obaayaa) who works as a live in for days. Upon retuning from work on Thursday around 2.00pm she found her brother lying in bed dead in their apartment.

Yaa Amposah (Obaayaa), Kusi, Agyepong, James Osie Bonsu and entire Asona –Abusua of Adumakese-Kese are sadly informing the public about the sudden death of their younger brother Pual Kwabena Kusi Maafo

The family will be gathering on his one week at his apartment on the 10th of February and a final funeral viewing will be held at 1225 Jerome Ave, at 3;pm in the Bronx . The funeral will be held the same day on the 16th February 2007 at the Pentecost Central Church in the Bronx, NY.
