NPP General Secretary Tours Canada

NANA OHENE-NTOW, General Secretary of Ghana’s ruling party the New Patriotic Party is in Canada for a six-day official visit.

The visit to Canada follows a similar one to the U.K. where the party chief scribe attended an International Democrat Union Campaign Managers meeting from Thursday November 23 - Friday November 24, 2006 in London.

Whilst in Canada, Nana Ohene-Ntow will attend in an observer capacity the Liberal Party of Canada Leadership Convention which opens in Montreal, Quebec on Wednesday, November 29, 2006. The four-day meeting will be choosing a leader for the Liberals.

A major part of the NPP General Secretary’s itinerary is a scheduled meeting with NPP members and supporters in Montreal, which the General Secretary will be addressing issues such as party organization, fund raising and the party’s image abroad, among other matters.

He arrived in Toronto on Tuesday November 28, 2006. The General Secretary was met on arrival at the Pearson International airport by Fred Poku-Bonsu. He later met with the executives of the Toronto chapter. This is Nana Ohene-Ntow’s first official visit abroad since taking office as party General Secretary in December last year.
