In a distinguished ceremony held in London, H.R.H. Vicky Newton, traditionally known as Nana Ekua Konuaba I, was awarded a Certificate of Award by Gilead International College and Seminary, recognizing her exceptional contributions to politics, public relations, and community development.
The event, attended by international dignitaries, academics, and community leaders, celebrated Vicky Newton’s unwavering commitment to public service and her impactful role in fostering community engagement. Gilead International College and Seminary is renowned for its dedication to empowering individuals through education and spiritual growth.
Vicky Newton’s work in public relations has been marked by a steadfast commitment to truth, integrity, and confidence—core values that have guided her efforts in advancing political discourse and strengthening community ties. Vicky Newton expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed her dedication to serving communities both in Ghana and internationally. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in driving positive change and encouraged others to actively engage in public service.
“I am truly humbled and honoured to have received a recognition award from Gilead International College and Seminary for my work and contribution in Politics, Public Relations, and Community Development, led by Ambassador Prof. Dr. Nicole Nugent. Vicky Newton currently serves as the BAME officer for the Croydon East Labour Party in the UK, and she was historically appointed as the first Ghanaian to stand as a Councillor for her ward for the Labour Party in the 2022 elections.
Serving as the patron of the Gye Nyame Development Foundation, Vicky Newton has been bridging the gap between the privileged and underprivileged by supporting marginalized communities and promoting positive change. Her commitment to community support and empowerment led to her enstoolment as Queen Nana Ekua Konuaba (Tufuhemaa) of the UK & Ireland.
