USA-based Ghanaians give to Oda Gov't Hospital

Akyem Oda (E/R), Jan. 29, GNA - Nana Okoda Darko and Mr Kenny Adom-Agyekum, both USA-based Ghanaians on Tuesday donated clinical equipment valued at about 5,000 dollars to the Akyem Oda Government hospital.

The items included bed sheets, digital thermometer, stethoscope, invacare quality alternative, diabetes stripes, clutches and bedside pants, among others.

Presenting the items, Nana Darko announced that he and his colleague had adopted the female ward and would be carrying out extension work on it soon.

He said the gesture was their contribution towards complementing government's efforts in making the hospital a centre of excellence. Nana Darko said the time had come when Ghanaians had to contribute their quota towards the development of their communities without relying too much on the government. Mr Gyamfi Yeboah, Principal Health Services Administrator, on behalf of the hospital management expressed gratitude to the donors. He said the items would help them to provide quality health care to patients.

Mr Yeboah appealed to the philanthropists to assist the hospital with more computers.
