UK Customs foil ?1m drugs plot

A drugs plot has been foiled after cocaine and cannabis worth ?1m were found inside boxes of vegetables at a Heathrow cargo warehouse in Southall.

Customs officers found 11kg of cocaine and 116kg of cannabis hidden in around 50 boxes of peppers in routine checks.

The drugs, which were smuggled into the UK from Ghana, Africa, were en route to New Smithfield Market in Manchester.
