Nigerian bound for Ghana busted with €1.2m

Authorities at the Dutch airport, Schiphol last Wednesday arrested a 36- year old Nigerian who had attempted to embark on a flight to Ghana with 1.2 million euros in cash hidden in specially created compartments in his traveling bag.

The amount representing the largest seizure ever at the Dutch airport has been seized after the man failed to produce reasonable explanation on its origin. Authorities believe the cash originated from illicit dealings.

Last year, a collective amount of 5 million euros was seized at Schiphol Airport.
