NPP-Holland’s Tribute to Quashigah

We, the NPP-HOLLAND branch are saddened by the death of Major Courage Emmanuel Kobla Quashigah. Our thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends as they reflect on the loss of this great and good man.

The NPP-Holland saw the focus and determination of Major Courage Quashigah, when as the first elected National Organiser of NPP in 1998, his effective party organisational skill and passionate commitment was matched with a practical understanding of what needed to be done, that led the party to win the 2000 general elections in Ghana. This victory that brought the NPP to govern Ghana was an opportunity that delivered massive change into the lives of many Ghanaians for nearly a decade. The New Patriotic party has indeed lost a figure that inspired admiration, respect and devotion to service and duty, not only in the party but around the world. The NPP would ever be pleased and proud to have worked with a man of such passion, who advocated fiercely for his political convictions.

To us in Holland, he zealously served Ghanaians by managing two most vital sectors of human needs in the capacity as Ghana’s Minister for Agriculture and Health. These positions he served with tremendous dedication and success. His excellence in Ghana’s military was sine qua non. As a disciplined army officer and politician, he maintained his optimistic spirit, his sense of humor, and his faith in his fellow Ghanaians without bearing any grudges to those who wronged him. He was a true public servant committed to the values of fairness and opportunity.

Major Courage Quashigah loved his country that he served with unquestionable loyalty, intelligence and bravery; he loved his family in adoration and served them in admiration, and worked for the New Patriotic Party with perseverance and satisfaction till the end. His enviable achievement in Ghana’s military, defending our nation and the remarkable role in our politics would be extremely missed. Ghana has missed a man who worked with such grace, wit, charm and bravery

Even with the NPP in political opposition, Major Courage Quashigah never gave in to self-pity or despair. He continued selflessly to exhibit COURAGE and COMMITED to return our great party to office in 2012. The NPP-Holland believes Major Quashigah would be held in special affection by the good people of Ghana.

MAY GOD KEEP HIS SOUL IN PERFECT PEACE

Kobby Annan (Chairman, NPP-Holland)
