NDC delegation to Socialist International call on Ghanaian students in Barcelona

The NDC delegations to Socialist International Council meeting in Spain Barcelona led by the General Secretary Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and James Kofi Fonu Kpatakpa, Deputy National youth organizer visited the Ghanaian students undergoing training in entrepreneurship, Barcelona (Platforma Empresarial) an institution that has expertise in building up new businesses and coaching in leadership to make businesses very successful.

This entrepreneurship training to the Ghanaian business owners such as Ayisha Fuseini Asheba, Alimah Bawah and Peter Awin at Cowtrib comes at a time when Ghana is facing challenges in solving youth unemployment, a situation which is prevalent in Ghana after completing their formal education.

The delegation believes the successful stories of these first participants would encourage the Ghanaian youth to set up their own businesses and refrain from looking for white collar Jobs after school.

After setting up their own business, they would in turn create employment for other people which would replicate in contributing to the GDP of the country and also earn them a decent living.

The president of the institution, Mr. Jordi Hereu Boher, also a former Mayor in the Barcelona City and the Director of the program Mr. Belarmino Rodriguez Curto praised the Ghanaian entrepreneurs for making the cut out of over 200 applicant from around the world. Ana Armengol Suarez took the delegation through the number of countries taking part in the program, namely, Uganda, Nigeria, India and Ghana.
