NDC UK/Ireland Youth Scold Young Patriots

Youth of the ruling National Democratic Congress UK/Ireland chapter have taken notice of press statement issued by Young Patriots threatening to embark on demonstration on the streets of London as protest against the creation of new constituencies by Electoral Commission of Ghana.

Whilst recognising the constitutional rights of every Ghanaian to demonstrate against issues they strongly consider dear to their hearts, we believe the 1992 constitution of Ghana provides adequate processes upon which redress can be sought.

We call on Young Patriots and all individuals and/or groups involved to exercise restraint by allowing processes currently on-going at the Supreme Court to manifest.

For us, any unpatriotic action that has tendency to tarnish the hard earned image and integrity of our beloved Country Ghana must be avoided and discouraged by all well-meaning Ghanaians, including leadership of the New Patriotic Party.

Ghana is a sovereign nation with enviable state institutions capable of dealing with challenges envisaged by the framers of the 1992 constitution, and as aspiring future leaders, the least we can give back to society is set good examples and project a positive image of our nation to the outside world.

As the good book says in 1st Corinthians 10 v 23 – 24 “all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbour”

God bless our homeland Ghana.
