NDC-Massachusetts holds branch elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Massachusetts Branch in the United States held its branch executive elections on Sunday May19, 2013 in Worcester MA. The occasion coincided with the branch monthly general council meeting and was attended by enthusiastic large numbers of members of the party from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Also in attendance was a delegation from NDC-USA Chapter led by Alhaji Abass Adamu, Chairman of NDC-New York Branch and Vice Chairman of NDC-USA. Other members were Osborne Sam, NDC-USA General Secretary and Bismark Agbemenule, former NDC-Greater Accra Youth Organizer. Similarly, members of the NDC-Massachusetts Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) branch from Brandies University in Boston which is the very first of its kind in the entire western hemisphere were also present in their numbers.

The free, fair and peaceful elections were supervised by Honorable Stephen Frimpong Manso, former District Chief Executive Officer of Suhum Kraboa Coaltar. At the end of proceedings the following members were elected to serve a four year term; Nii Ashiboi Armah Chairman, Ato Essel Vice Chairman, Sampson Toya 2nd Vice Chairman, Richmond Nettey Secretary, Kojo Aggor Organizer, Jennifer Nanfuri Women Organizer, and Jeffery Lartey Treasurer. Samuel George Anarwat (PhD. Candidate) was unanimously appointed by the newly elected executive body as the NDC-Massachusetts TEIN Coordinator.

The executive members were sworn in by NDC-USA General Secretary Osborne Sam who entreated them to work assiduously to assist NDC-USA facilitate the execution of the better Ghana agenda under the Mahama administration. After all said and done, the proverbial “item 13” was judiciously taken care of, and it continued deep into the night before proceedings were brought to successful end.
