NDC Europe Congrats its Members

for success in the Electoral Primaries

NDC Europe congratulates its members who have successfully been elected to represent their Constituencies as Parliamentary candidates in the 2012 elections.

NDC Europe is a network of NDC branches in Europe which presently includes Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway and Italy. It aims to strengthen the structures of the NDC Party in Europe and Ghana, build our alliances with mainstream EU Socialist Parties with the aim of enhancing the Democracy and Governance system in Ghana.

First is Madam Vida Addae who was elected to represent the Ejisu-Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region. The former NDC Hamburg Chairperson (2006-2011) won the confidence of the NDC Constituency Delegates when she polled 378 votes as against 216 votes over the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Anthony Kwaku Boahen.

Madam Addae whose hard working skills have earned her the name “ Yaa Asantewaa,” the first queen mother of Ejisu, was hopeful nothing would be an impediment to her chances of emerging as the Constituency’s Parliamentary candidate to annex the seat for the ruling government in the 2012 elections .

In outlining her vision for the constituents, she emphasised that she would give much attention to the environment, agriculture, women, child development and education to offer hope to those in the rural areas of the Constituency.

In another development, Ras Mubarak formerly resident in Norway won the Ablekuma North Constituency Primaries. Ras won the day polling a total of 161 votes against his opponent, Nathaniel Addo (former Constituency Chairman) who polled 151 votes. Nathaniel Addo, in a brief speech conceded defeat promising to offer a helping hand to the winner.

NDC Europe is happy to note that the activism and support over the years by its members in Europe has translated into positive outcomes to be felt in far-reaching NDC Constituencies in Ghana and takes the opportunity to congratulate its hardworking members all over Europe. It will continue to give all the necessary support to the various Constituencies in need as we go into the 2012 elections.

Once again we say to all members across Europe and Ghana well done.
