NDC-Atlanta Trumpets President Mills Achievements

At its recent meeting, members of NDC-Atlanta reiterated their call on government to tell Ghanaians of its impressive achievements within the past three years. Obviously, members of NDC-Atlanta don’t expect NPP media commentators to acknowledge the achievements of President Mills-led NDC administration; that in the past three years of Prof. Mills administration, not less than 340 million Ghana cedis have been allocated to cocoa roads compared to the 3 million in the first four years of the NPP regime; NDC-Atlanta does not expect NPP propagandists to talk about the 16.5km Central Business District roads, the Republic and Padmore roads, the Meridian, Lumumba (Agbamami) and Beach roads, the Lashibi, Baatsonaa and Klagon road, the Kpone main road, the Tema Oil Refinery road and the Ashaiman-Zeenu road among others being constructed by Prof. Mills-led NDC administration.
NDC-Atlanta does not expect NPP to say that fertilizer subsidy at the close of their 2008 administration stood at 43,176 metric tons, compared with the NDC government’s impressive 176,000 metric tons increase in fertilizer subsidy within the past three years.
NDC-Atlanta does not expect members of NPP to acknowledge the massive transformation that President Mills is about to bring to the energy sector through the injection of the $850m, which is expected to transform this sector of our economy.
Indeed NDC-Atlanta expects NPP to list all the achievements of Prof. Mills-led NDC government and multiply it by zero (0). From kindergarten Mathematics, no matter how huge a number is, if you multiply it by zero, the final answer is zero. So we expect NPP media men and commentators to downplay and not understand all the developmental achievements and issues that NDC has chalked thus far, because IT IS DIFFICULT TO CONVINCE A MAN ON ISSUES WHEN HIS SALARY AND PRIVILEGES DEPEND ON HIM NOT UNDERSTANDING THOSE ISSUES. NPP’s media men want to be relevant to their party and pay masters, so we will understand that. But the good people of Ghana who are beneficiaries of government’s achievements will definitely acknowledge what the Mills-Mahama administration has achieved within the past three years and will definitely retain NDC in power.
With the recent biometric exercise being conducted by the EC, members of this great chapter want media commentators to delineate politics from this exercise, since it has the potential to prepare the grounds for electoral violence in the upcoming elections. Members believe that the timing of this exercise is not appropriate, against the tense political atmosphere gaining grounds in the country. However, since the registration process has additional couple of weeks to go, all the issues relating to batteries for computers and the biometric machines for those in remote areas need to be evaluated so that all teething problems that could mar the voting process are nib in the bud before the elections day. There are evil people who will want to use this biometric process to foment violence and create a chaotic situation in our dear Ghana. All those singing the ‘All die be die’ mantra should ask about the refugee situation in neighboring war torn countries, and those who have been to wars before. As the former German Chancellor rightly put it; “He who has ever gazed into the glazed eyes of a dying warrior will think twice when beginning a war”. None of those war mongers have being to war before, so they do not know what they are talking about. Indeed war is not the answer to the illiteracy, poverty, ignorance and the numerous infrastructural deficits that the government is working hard to address.
NDC-Atlanta will want to encourage H.E. John Evans Atta Fiifi Mills, to continue with his Better Ghana Agenda and be focused, because as we all know, Dr. Nkrumah was criticized and kicked out of government; H.E. former President Rawlings was criticized, insulted and demonized during his administration. But today, these past Presidents are the heroes that Ghanaians and the international community revere so much. Rightly so, a government must not waiver once it has chosen its course. It must not look to the left or right but go forward.
NDC-Atlanta believes that at the end of Prof-Mills eight (8) years in office, Ghanaians will say, aaah Ok, this was what Prof. Mills really meant, and that he should have told them earlier so they did not have to insult and criticize him. Ghana is on the right track; hence Ghanaians should retain this government to complete its Better Ghana Agenda.
From victory unto victory, NDC with Prof. Mills as the leader shall win again.
