NDC-Atlanta Congratulates Sammy Osei

, And Declares ‘Atta Akyea Must Go’

At its last monthly meeting for 2012, Chaired by Dr. Bismark Sarfo, the ever-committed members of NDC-Atlanta congratulated Hon. Sammy Osei for winning the primary election for the Abuakwa South constituency at the just ended NDC Parliamentary congress. The entire membership of the Chapter have thrown their support behind Mr. Osei aka Okyeman Abrantie, and declared that it is time for the people of Abuakwa South to elect an illustrious son, and that the time has come for Atta Akyea to go. In support of Okyeman Abrantie’s candidature, NDC-Atlanta with their counterparts in Abuakwa South will be embarking on a campaign dubbed “Atta Akyea must go”. Atta Kyea did practically nothing for his constituency since he was elected as an MP, and will not also leave the people of Abuakwa South in peace, but allegedly fomenting violence in the area. It is time the people of Abuakwa South woke up and get rid of him before he destroys their community.

Mr. Osei was very thankful to the membership of NDC-Atlanta for the support that they have given him thus far, and wish that the Chapter would continue to support his candidature. Compared to 2004, Mr. Osei increased NDC’s vote in the Abuakwa South Constituency by about 75% in the 2008 elections. All members were very enthusiastic and have pledged their unflinching support to make sure that Okyeman Abrantie captures the Abuakwa South seat from the non-performing Atta Akyea who sits in Accra doing his legal business instead of being in Parliament, and lobbying for developmental projects for his area.

Meanwhile, NDC-Atlanta is calling on the leadership of the great Akatamanso to resolve the disunity that has crept into the party without delay. NDC-Atlanta believes that, the leadership of the party missed the opportunity to settle this issue when it started couple of years ago. That was the time that the issue should have been tackled and nipped in the bud, but was allowed to fester until now, and has the potential to affect our fortunes in the 2012 elections.

NDC-Atlanta is calling on the rank and file of the great Akatamanso, to put all their differences aside, unite and support H.E Prof. Mills for a second term as the President of Ghana. Against all odds, President Mills has performed beyond expectation, especially against the background of the ‘anemic’ economy that NDC inherited, in addition to the global economic recession, which started at the time that NDC took over. Indeed, NPP cannot fault the President for embarking on massive infrastructural development, because that will surely lay a solid foundation for our economic growth. If NPP believes that the “Better Ghana Agenda” being pursued by Prof. Mills led NDC government with infrastructural development being key in this developmental agenda is not the way forward for Ghana, then they should provide a clear alternative approach and stop the media propaganda. “Today, NPP has evidence that Amina is a witness to a mass rape in a bus; another time they have evidence that Prof. Mills is building a huge mansion; and lately their flag-bearer Akufo-Addo chided Prime Minister David Cameron in UK”. This cheap propaganda and lies must stop.

NDC-Atlanta believes that it is high time our party communicates effectively to the people of Ghana, to let them know what the party inherited and what we have been able to achieve thus far. We should not be allowing NPP to set the agenda for us to come and defend. NDC-Atlanta has the confidence that it is the great Akatamanso, which will lift Ghanaians out of poverty, so Ghanaians should give Prof. Mills a second term to complete the “Better Ghana Agenda”

“From victory unto victory
The NDC shall lead
A stable democracy, Ghana
Our Strength in Unity
God bless Ghana and our dear party”

NDC-Atlanta wishes all Akatamansonians and Ghanaians, Afihyia Paooooooo!!!!
