...to the Akropong Akuapem Health Center
The Kwakwaduam Fekuw of the New York Tristate Area has donated a bus worth about 30 million cedis to the Akropong Akuapem Clinic. The bus is intended to be used as shuttle to convey sick people from strategic points throughout the town to the clinic and to convey them back as well as transport emergency cases more efficiently to bigger facilities. This is to improve the efficiency of the delivery of health care to the people, to cut down on the expense and inconvenience encountered in going to the clinic and to improve the general quality of life of the people.
Presenting the bus to the Krontihene of the town Nana Ofei Agyeman, on behalf of the Organization, Dr. Aniapam Boafo, a member of the group said that the organization comprises residents who trace their ancestry to Akropong and as part of its activities are programs intended to improve the quality of life at Akropong in particular and Ghana in general. It will be recalled that last year the organization donated hospital equipment and supplies worth about 75 million cedis to the clinic.
Future plans include the provision of computers with Internet access to the schools and the organization of free remedial classes and educational materials to the Secondary schools.
