KNUST alumni – convention and dinner dance

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) Alumni in North America will be converging at Greenbelt - Maryland, USA from 04 July till 07 July, 2014 to celebrate its biennial convention and deliberate on the theme “Leveraging Our Core Strengths To Our Benefits”.

The convention will welcome senior leadership of the Alumni from Ghana and the UK and seeks to develop collaborative approaches to resolving and leveraging practical solutions to both alumni and university problems.

The Vice Chancellor of the KNUST, Professor Otoo Ellis and other senior members of the University administration and community will be participating in this convention which has frown to be one of the bigger gathering of Alumni of this great African universities resident outside Ghana. This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Hon. Dr. Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Ghana's Ambassador to India, and the convention will be under the distinguished chairmanship of Prof. W. O. Ellis.

Attendance usually reconnects old friend and foes alike, for a weekend of fun, merry making, and intellectual deliberations, concluding with massive fundraising dinner dance which this year, will focus on constructing a hostel to help alleviate housing deficiencies on campus. Monies will also be solicited for the establishment of a scholarship fund to help needy students complete their degree programs, which would have otherwise been tough to complete. All alumni, especially those residing in North America are encouraged to participate in this year’s gathering and to make the gathering a success.
