Her untimely death is a tremendous loss to her family, the party and the country. Madam Hawa Yakubu was a fearless fighter for freedom and democracy, an ardent advocate for the downtrodden, and a trail blazer for women in politics in Ghana and Africa,

She served as the Patron of CAMFED( a UK based Charity Organization), Patron GHASAP( Ghana Skills and Acquisition Program), Patron NAWIP (Network of African Women In Politics), a former Member of Parliament, Bawku Central, legislator in the ECOWAS Parliament and the Vice Chairperson of NPP.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
