Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK & Republic of Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah has congratulated Emmanuel Gyan-Mensah, a Ghanaian graduate who recently received a special award from University of Warwick after his master’s degree course.

The High Commissioner in his interaction with Gyan commended him for making Ghana proud and intimated that the Award should spur him to greater heights as he returns home.

Gyan received the 2018 Institute of Export Prize award from the University of Warwick (WMG) and the UK Institute of Export and International Trade.

The Award is solely for International Trade, Strategy & Operation (ITSO) candidates and the third time that the prize has been given by the Department.

Gyan was the top performing Student ranking first out of 116 ITSO graduates considered at the November 2018 Examination Board. In addition, Gyan was the 6th best graduand out of all 1300 candidates (Full time, Part- Time Professional and Overseas Programmes combined), that is, top 0.5%.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Ghanaians excel whenever and wherever they are giving the opportunity, especially in the UK. Over the years, Ghanaians pursuing various degree programmes have performed creditably well.

Since the inception of the Award, this is the first time an African and by extension a Ghanaian has ever received the coveted UK Institute of Export prize.
