Ghanaians in USA pay their last respect TO A LEADER

NY, 2/13/04 -- Ghanaians in the US came in their numbers to pay their last respect to a leader, Togbui Agbodegbe I (a.k.a Togbe Kofi Tsai I), the Gyasehene of Liati traditional Area in the Volta Region, a staunch supporter and ambassador of Ghanaian culture who passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2003 in Queens, New York.

Togbe was a founding member, and a two time President of the National Council of Ghanaian Associations. He is known to champion causes that enhance and promote development of his native land. Among the mourners included His Excellency, Nana Effah Appenteng, Ghana's Ambassador to the UN and staff of Ghana Mission, Alhaji Mardah, Mr. Kwabena Manu aka Honorable Pancho, Mr. Thomas Mensah and Ms Ivy Quarshie of National Council of Ghanaian Associations (NCOGA), Nana Anane Amponsah, Asantefoohene of NY and Asanteman Association, Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA), Association of Traditional Rulers, Ghanaian Association of Westchester, Kwahuman Association, Ladies Club and many other associations.

A true Ghanaian culture was exhibited and many paid tributes to Togbe portraying the difference he made in the lives of Ghanaians. MAY HIS SOUL RESTS IN ETERNAL PEACE.
