Ghanaians in Hamburg must showcase their culture - Maxwell Nkrumah-Ababio

The newly elected President of the Ghana Union in Hamburg, Germany, Mr. Maxwell Nkrumah-Ababio says good union action plans must help people within it to recognise and develop their ability and potential and organize themselves to respond to problems and needs which they share thereby it will supports the establishment of strong union that control and use assets to promote social engagement and help improve the quality of members within union.

President Nkrumah-Ababio said the reason for forming the Union is to promote unity among Ghanaians living in Hamburg by Creating multicultural Community and recreational centre to serve the interest of members.

He added they also want to promote education by giving people the opportunity to learn how to read and write German language and also provide legal assistance for members.

He further said the union will embark on projects which will include visiting prisons to support inmates with legal, psychological, rehabilitation and family issues.

They will also promote medical care for undocumented members or members without resident permits and promote insurance cover for deaths of members who wish to be buried at home or in Hamburg.

According to the President, Ghana union in Hamburg intends to invite three persons from each association in Hamburg to serve as representatives in the Union in order to establish and institute a strong data base of all Ghanaians in Hamburg because soon the union will embark upon events and programs in Germany as well as engage in project in Ghana to support the current government

President Nkrumah-Ababio encourage all Ghanaians living in Germany to showcase the Ghanaian uniquely and stupendous culture during festive occasions so that the current Ghanaian generation in Germany will learn and know where they were coming from an or the norm of their forefathers and urge them to join the various Unions so that they can solicit for help when the need arises.

President Maxwell Nkrumah-Ababio advised Ghanaians living in the Germany to respect the laws and live peacefully with each other as Germany and Ghana has a long-standing relationship and affiliation within the two countries and on the international level.
