Ghanaian Youth at Six Flags

. Chicago, Illinois-,On July 21 2007, the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago sponsored another trip to Six Flags ,Great America ,for the Youth of the various Affiliate organizations constituting the Council. The program, which has become popular and admired by members of the community, yesterday led to bright eyes and wide smiles on the faces of both the youth and their parents as the children start boarding the Luxurious 60 Seater Bus headed for Gurnee, Illinois.

The trip itself was planned as usual by Afua Agyeman, the Youth Secretary of the Ghana National Council. The chaperons were led by Dr. Mark Kutame, Vice-President and Secretary of the Ghana National Council,GNC. Other chaperons include, Mariam Issakka, PRO ,GNC, and Lavorne Senanu.

The Kids and chaperons at the South Side of Chicago boarded the bus at 5500 S. Woodlawn whilst those living around the North side of the city joined their friends at 4433 North Ravenswood.

There were 55 children and six chaperons who undertook the trip. The kids had a paid $25.00 and were treated to a bus ride to and from Six flags and launch coupon each. Upon return each child and chaperons were noted to be worn-out obviously from the ultimate nostalgic rides at the Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor.

One thing clear to the organizers was that, there has been always more youth ready to get into the trip at the last minute despite the over six month announcement of the trip to members of the affiliate organizations. MoneyGram International were the co-sponsors of this year's trip.
