The Ghanaian Women's Association of Georgia, Inc. (G-WAG) Launches the "G-WAG Pages"- its First FREE Community Business Directory

On Saturday, August 22 at 4pm, the Ghanaian Women's Association of GA will be launching the long-awaited community business directory "G-WAG Pages" at a cocktail party to be held at The Clubhouse, 4600 Village Oaks Drive in Dunwoody, GA. Among the special guests that have been invited are: business-owners, advertisers as well as leaders of various associations and churches.

Founded on May 19, 2007, the Ghanaian Women's Association of GA, Inc. (G-WAG) has as its primary objective to build a strong, visible and engaged Ghanaian community in Georgia. With a strong focus on using our skills to serve the community, G-WAG engages in activities and projects through networking events and philanthropy to bring people together for the purposes of sharing information, ideas, and resources to advance the community.

It is against this backdrop that within a year of operating, the Association's Business Development Committee has embarked on a project to compile a listing of all Ghanaian/African-owned businesses in Georgia. The first of its kind, the GWAG Pages is certainly a must-have community resource. According to the committee's Chairperson Mrs. Agnes Hayfron Barnor, it is her hope that the directory will connect households and bring an awareness to the unique goods and services that businesses and institutions in the community offer - for our patronage of these businesses is key in promoting a strong, successful and thriving community.

With heartfelt gratitude, G-WAG wishes to express appreciation to all of its advertisers, members and supporters whose input directly or otherwise, helped to bring this project to a successful completion. Copies of the annual publication will be made available at Tropical Grocery Stores, Churches and other key outlets in the metro Atlanta area. The next edition is scheduled for July 2010.
