Ghanaian Union of Manitoba Elects New Executives

Winnipeg, Canada. - The Ghanaian Union of Manitoba recently elected new members of its executive committee that take over from officials who have been in office for the past 2-3 years. The new officers are:

President - Cecelia Oduro

Vice-President - Frank Indome

Secretary - Maggie Yeboah

Social Secretary - Osei Assibey

Asst. Social Secretary - Nicholas Baffoe

Treasurer - Beatrice Fearn

Asst. Treasurer - Emilia Bonsu

Public Relations Officer - Tonny Gadagbui

Past President - Sam Yeboah

The Ghanaian Union of Manitoba Inc. is a non-profit organisation that brings together Ghanaians residing in the province of Manitoba. The Ghanaian community in Manitoba is young and engaged in various professions and trades. The Union has cultural groups for different age groups that participates regularly in the annual Folklorama Festival held in Winnipeg. It prides itself in its calendar year events which serves to promote unity among Ghanaians in Manitoba, to help one another, protect its common interests and to pursue activities of mutual interest and benefit. The Union also encourages goodwill and understanding between Ghanaians and Manitobans by participating in cultural, social and educational programs. There are currently an estimated 500 Ghanaians in Manitoba who play a major role within the African community in the province.

The new executive which boasts of young and dynamic individuals hopes to maintain the pride, unity and respect associated within community.
